The other choice is to embrace the revolution and rent an E-bike for your trip. If you’ve never ridden an E-bike, be ready for a lot of fun. Everyone who tested these bikes from the Wilderness Team had a smile as wide as the Atlantic; it was simply great fun.
We should probably explain that if you’re looking for a motorbike, you’re going to be disappointed. An E-bike is still a bicycle, and you’ll still get a workout. However, the E-bike motor amplifies your pedalling effort and makes you feel like the wind is always at your back and helping you along the way. If you ride an E-bike, you’ll find that both the miles and the hills melt away, leaving you to enjoy the terrain and landscapes to the full.
An E-bike may allow you to complete one of our more challenging trips or enable you to keep up with your partner or friends throughout the day. If you hire one, we guarantee it will be impossible not to grin as you cruise past them on the hills.
The E-bikes we have selected are the Allant+ 6 Lowstep which features a lightweight aluminium frame and a new Bosch Smart System motor capable of helping you sustain speeds up to 25 km/h and controlled from a handlebar-mounted switch. The Allant+ 6 Lowstep also has wide 45mm tyres for extra stability and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes for all-weather stopping power. The Lowstep design lets you easily hop on and off the E-bike to capture that perfect photo.
